In June, six of the senior boys and staff went to London to watch the Trooping of the Colour, representing the Boys' Brigade nationally on the invite of the King. This was a fun-filled weekend, where we also did some sightseeing, visited the Millennium Dome and went to the Olympic Park. The boys all seemed to enjoy the weekend.
We are busy planning for the new session and the first evening will be Wednesday 19th August (see times below). As always, please let all friends and family know and all new boys will be made most welcome. Also, if anyone would like to help on the staff of the Company, we are always looking for new helpers and ideas. Please get in touch with Scott Anderson, Captain.
The Boys' Brigade meets on a Wednesday from the end of August to May in the Kilsyth & District Parish Church hall.
It is currently on holiday for the summer and will recommence in the autumn. Dates will be published here on the website when available. New members are always welcome.
The local company is divided into four age groups:
Activities: The boys participate in a wide range of activities including camping, hiking, sports, crafts and community volunteering, with the opportunity to earn top awards like the President's Badge and Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Leaders: All adult leaders are thoroughly vetted (Disclosure/PVG checks) and trained to ensure a safe, caring environment.
Faith: We are a Christian youth organisation, and our work is rooted in the Christian Faith. We have a hope in Christ as our anchor that sustains us throughout life (Hebrews 6:19). Our prayer and hope is that children and young people experience life to the full through coming to know Jesus for themselves.
