Spiritual Inspiration

Meetings are held in the Wyper Hall from 11.00am until 12.00pm every Thursday morning. The aim of the meeting is to have a time of fellowship, reflect on a passage and pray for local, national and current world situations. It is normally led by Rev K D MacLeod. We would love to see you there. Don't feel you have to pray aloud - just pray in your heart or say "AMEN" to someone else's prayer.

October is normally the month we celebrate harvest in our churches, giving gratitude to God for the annaual gathering of crops, food provision and the bounty of creation. However, this is not the same everywhere. There are countries where crops have failed due to drought, natural disasters and conflicts and people hungry, malnourished and even dying due to lack of food. This month let us pray for these situations and for those in this country who, through the cost of living crisis, cannot put food on the table and have to rely on foodbanks.

Lord God, the earth is yours and all that is in it. We give thanks for the food we share and ask your blessing  on all those who grow, harvest, prepare and distribute the food for our nourishment. We pray for those who have no harvest to celebrate, no crops to gather for various reasons: drought, floods, conflicts, corruption and unequal distribution of wealth. We pray for all the relief agencies who provide food and education for farmers in more sustainable ways to plant and harvest their crops.

We pray too for people in this country who through poverty and the cost of living cannot put food on their table and have to rely on local foodbanks. Lord, we hank you for these organisations who meet the basic needs of hungry people and may they flourish. Please provide all they need and discretion in distributing the food. In Jesus name,
